Located in the historic Garnier Building (1890), the last surviving structure from the city’s original Chinatown, the Chinese American Museum (CAM) opened on December 18, 2003 with the goal of cultivating public awareness, understanding and appreciation for the more than 150 years of Chinese American history in the United States and in Los Angeles.
