Storyline:

Esther Hoffman is a beginning singer. He meets John Howard, a rock star who is in crisis. Knowledge is transformed into a friendship, until Esther and John become lovers. He is convinced of the great vocal talent of Esther. Under her influence she throws alcohol and becomes restrained.

The movie is a remake double: the classic Hollywood blockbuster of the thirties, directed by William A. Wellman Janet Gaynor and Fredrik Marche, however, and the famous movie by George Cukor with Judy Garland and James Mason and music of Gershwin. Also, the third attempt melodrama proved to be a commercial success and artistic, was awarded the Golden Globe in five major categories, derived from “The Birth …” a beautiful ballad performed by Barbra Streisand’s “Evergreen”, belongs to, coincidentally, the greatest singer evergreens. Also, the soundtrack “A Star Is Born” remained on top of the charts for many months. Thirty-five years after the premiere, in the digitally renewed version, Pierson’s classic is watching with emotion.
