The Blushing CoEd Cocktail
Oberlin College in Ohio is a private liberal arts college which, on this day in 1833, became the first co-ed college in the United States. This Blushing Co-Ed drink recipe is a fitting tribute.

The Blushing CoEd
Ingredients
- 1 oz. Gin
- 1 oz. Applejack
- 2 Tsp. Sugar
- 4 Raspberries + 2 Raspberries for Garnish
- 1 Egg White (Optional)
MIXING METHOD:
- In a mixing glass, muddle the sugar and raspberries together allowing the sugar to dissolve.
- In a mixing tin , add the gin , applejack, and egg white.
- Cap off with the mixing glass containing the raspberries and sugar blend.
- Dry shake (without ice) for at least 10 seconds, (note: the longer you dry shake, the more foam will be created with the egg yolk). If you decide not to not use the egg white, disregard the dry shake.
- Uncap the mixing glass from the tin, then add ice to the mixture.
- Cap and shake again for another ten seconds.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Garnish with two fresh raspberries.
