2013 Super Bowl Commercials

super bowl commercials

It seems like every year the week before the Super Bowl has at least one ‘hype’ commercial teaser to ring up a little controversial media and get us watching and waiting for the one commercial that might just push the limits of acceptability to edge.  2013 was no different – starting with a sneak peek a sexy Mercedes Benz commercial set to air during the 2013 Super Bowl.  Will they run it?  We hope so.  But we haven’t seen it yet.  So all we’ve got to start you off with is the little teaser ABC’s Good Morning America ran last week to peak our interest.

Where do Baby’s Come From?

Well, there’s a planet… And when the time is just right, they travel through space and penetrate the atmosphere…

40-somethings all around country have wished the car could help them change the topic a million times over.  And KIA shows us the way in their Super Bowl spot this year.

Perfect Match – Bar Refaeli’s Big Kiss! | Official GoDaddy.com Commercial

Danica Patrick watches “sexy meet smart” as supermodel Bar Refaeli experiences #TheKiss in this GoDaddy.com 2013 Big Game commercial. Get your #PerfectMatch of a Domain Name and Website at http://www.GoDaddy.com

Anyone else wondering if the ‘nerd’ shot that spot for free?

Budweiser – The Clydesdales Brotherhood

Watch this through and submit to name the latest addition to the Budweiser Clydesdale Family.

Volkswagen – Get in. Get Happy.

Meet Dave and his new found sunny disposition (that manifests itself in a curious way), all thanks to his new 2013 Volkswagen Beetle. This spot is a little discounted and confusing since it blindly implies that anyone with a Jamaican accent is a carefree… But it’s got its merits with a light laugh or two and we’ve heard that the new Turbo Edition Beetle is actually fun to drive.

Mercedes-Benz 2013 Super Bowl Commercial (Extended Cut): “Soul”

With a star-studded cast including Usher, Kate Upton and Willem Dafoe, Mercedes-Benz unveils the all-new CLA-Class in this extended cut of its Super Bowl commercial.  We sorely missed the part where Kate Upton washes the car, but we’re guessing some post-game footage will surface soon.  In the meantime we’ll settle for skipping the deal with the devil and waiting until September to have rip around town in the new C Class Sedan.

Old Spice – Wolfhorn

Old Spice put this out online just a couple of days before the Super Bowl saying “Sometimes women do what their noses tell them, and those times are all the time when the woman’s nose smells new Old Spice Wolfthorn.”  Right.  Great imagery, Old Spice… but let’s get honest about all this.  If Old Spice could turn any woman onto a prowl for any man, you wouldn’t need commercials to sell your stuff.

Viva Young – 2013 Taco Bell Game Day Commercial

Definitely a favorite here! After all, ‘Let’s All Go Out‘ is just about our favorite thing to say… Although we work hard to avoid fast food now, I guess in our old age it’ll either be all we can afford or it just won’t make much difference what we eat.  If escaping the old age home for a late night romp, pool hopping, causing a disturbance and getting down with some sweet young things at a nightclub means grabbing some calories at Taco Bell on the way to sneaking back in just before sunrise… I’m game.

Dodge Ram Trucks Super Bowl Commercial Farmer – Keep Plowing Spot

Dodge spun the wheels deep this year with a welcome departure from the usual RAM Tough spots showing uncommon drivers doing uncommon things in uncommon places.  Like Mercedes Benz, they’ve come for our souls this year.  But rather than take an up-tempo shot at the funner side of life they took us on a tour through the heart of America with a calming narration from Paul Harvey telling why God made a farmer.
